“For the first time in my life, I am going to another country with another culture different from my own, yet amazing in so many different ways. It’s going to be very exciting. I am going to see the Pope, which I have also never done. I am a very outdoorsy guy and I love hiking and experiencing God’s creation around us. What better place to do this than on a pilgrimage in Spain?”

“I’m also just excited for the adventure of it all. It’s going to be a great experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. I hope to gain perspective; many of us get so caught up in our daily lives we forget what’s really important. I believe this trip will help give me a new way of looking at things and teach me what’s really important in my life. “I am really excited about a lot of things on this trip because there is going to be so much that I have never done before – like flying across an ocean, taking a train, walking for two weeks for a total of 200 miles, going to WYD, and seeing the Pope. “If I were to pick what I am most looking forward to, it would probably be going to and experiencing WYD because I am going to see all of the different youth of the world there just like us and going to the Vigil Mass is going to be amazing.”

    Mr. Bedell,

I had no idea you were part of the Spain pilgrimage. Terrific news. As your teacher in physics (or “nature” in Greek) and engineering (or “techne” in Greek) I wish you the best. Study well the stars and the mathematical arches which hold up the Spanish Cathedrals.
